Le forum est très chouette. Mon arrivé est un peu étrange parmis vous, je suis le premier étonné. J'espère réussir à m'impliquer correctement et à aider du mieux possible; j'ai pas l'habitude de "tout ça". J'suis un joueur au départ, qui s'est retrouvé GM, et puis co-admin et puis dev pour mon serveur initial, et finalement, en tant qu'adorateur de NCDB, j'avais lancé (seul ) les premières bases d'une NCDB Française.

Pour ceux qui lisent l'anglais, voici le message d'intro que j'avais rédigé sur le forum de NCDB ;

Hi all, I just started working on the translation in french. As in any other language, it's is a lot of work but I would like to do an "Intelligent Translation". Means that I don't want to translate everything and I got my reason;
- I hate ultimate translation; translation for the sake of it,
- I hate a translated joke that doesn't do it anymore,
- I hate some french names that just sound stupid,
- It would be a lot of useless and ugly work to translate NPC names or some locations, or others things that would only cause one of those 3 points up here, if not all at the same time .
- The DB looks silly with everything translated.

"Intelligent" Translation should be;
- Not trying to translate a speechplay or a pun if you loose it or if you need too much words to keep it funny or meaningful,
- Not trying to translate a NPC name by cutting it in 2 or 3 words (Thunderhoof should NOT become "Sabot-de-Tonnerre" in french), you don't translate your family name when you go somewhere; people just learn what it means (if it means something, of course ),
- Be logical and NEVER use a automatic translation, or if so, do revise the sense afterward. Being logical mean, for exemple that a npc named "Kali Healtouch" can be rename "Kali la Bienfaitrice" (or something like that... y'know) since it is not that ugly nor too long and that it keep the joke,
- Try only to translate what is usefull for the players,

And so on, I repeat myself a lot, I know...
After all, original names are funny and meaningfull. With the translated context, players should be able to understand it.

You don't translate everything on a roadmap, do you?

En tout cas bienvenue, et merci de ton arrivée parmi nous, car à travers ce forum nous allons pouvoir bâtir un projet sérieux de traduction pour la NCDB et WAAD.

Comme tu le sais, le projet débute pour nous aussi, donc toutes tes remarques et suggestions sont les bienvenues.
